Iznajar is a village of around 5000 people, it is traditionally Spanish, with narrow streets, small shops, and coffee bars on many corners. There is a post office, hospital and pharmacy, and most everything else you need for a holiday. The town of Rute is a 10 minute drive and has a large supermarket.
Casita Celestial is located within olive groves, on a country lane. For generations the farmers here have produced some of the best olive oil in the world. Visitors do come to the area to explore real Spain, but tourism is still in its infancy. The cities of Granada, Cordoba and Malaga, all rich in culture, are an hour away. Sevilla is a two hour trip. There is plenty to explore locally, in hill top villages, for those looking to experience all that Spain has to offer.
During the summer months the beach has shades and chairs for hire, plus various non-motorised water craft. There is a new municipal outdoor sports centre with pool, tennis, football and other facilities.
